Just thought I would give you guys an update on how I am feeling. For the most part I am doing okay. I am getting around okay but slowly. I think I am trying to go to push myself to hard because I am finding myself more in bed then out of bed. When I saw the Doctor he told me I could get up walk for a lil bit, and sit for about a half an hour, and thenonly do the stairs once a day. but then only problem with that is that everthing that I need is upstairs. Shower, food, and drinks. Anyways, my problem now that I having is that my back is hurting and so is my legs every now and then. I dont know if it is because I am trying to do to much or what. I am going to wait it out and see what happens. I also have been getting massive migraines when I stand up. This blows I am to be going back to work on July 1 st or so they say. If anyone has suggestions let me know.

Ok so here's the thing, Tuesday I think it was when I finally called the doctor about the headaches and the back pain. He told me to go to the Hospital for a Cat Scan ( cant have MRI) to see what be causing the headaches since it is only when I stand up do I get these debilitating things as bad as a migrqine if not worse. Mind you I have already tried taking all my migraine meRAB. He wants to rule out anything with the brain first, otherwise he is thinking it just might be Spinal Fluid Leakage from the Surgery which is rare since it is happing 2 weeks after the fact. So I go to the Hospital and Cat Scan is Normal. I am told to go home and I will be called tomorrow (on Wednesday) to have a Blood Patch done. Oh Yea!!!
Anyways, today is now Saturday and I still cannot stand up without getting a fricking headache, and evry now and then my back bothers me. I am not sure if that is because I am just laying around doing nothing.
I tried to go out yesterday with my husband and ended up commin homin and blowing chunks in the driveway and going right in bed. Didnt even get to enjoy our lunch out

To all, I just had a second blood patch on Monday. I am sttill getting the headaches and to top it off I woke up this morning and found out that where the incision (20 Staples) were is swollen, so now I am thinking I have fluid in there again. My husband is such a good a person to put up with me and all this stuff that is going on. I just wish that it would it stop already. Whether it is a Migraine or Spinal Fluid Headache, I just dont want to have these any more. I mean standing or sittting and then Bam within in 30 minutes HEADACHE.
Any medication that I try to take so far has not really worked. It might take away some of the pain but not all of it. The only thing that sort of really makes it feel reaaly good is laying down. To tell you the the truth that is all I have been doing since the surgery and I am getting really bored of that. I am calling the Dr this morning and let him know what is going on and see what he says. I will give you guys an update.

Chet,
I am very sorry you are going through another "down" day. Unfortunatelly road to recovery is plenty of ups and downs.
Please, let me know what kind surgery do you have?
Why can't you have MRI?
And if you feel comfortable to let me know who was your surgeon, please do. I am from Central Jersey also. Just out of curiosity.

You headaches seems to me relate to your back. How severe are they? I had one episode with such severe headache felt like" never before in my life" one.
Well, I had spinal fluid leakage. I had to be 48 hours in bed without even going to the lady's room. Be careful about it. If leakage is not major, it still can give you headache but not as severe. Doesn't matter: both of them not good. Usually fluid accumulates at the area of your spine where neck and spine meet and enRAB (sorry, honey, can't explain you with more medical termins).

All the best to you on your recovery!

Please do keep us informed and I pray that your doctor puts you in the hospital and properly medicates you to get over this.

Chet please be sure to call you doctor and let him know that you are still having problems. Migraines are the pits and coupled with nerve pain - ouchie - I imagine you are feeling very poorly.

Also, I want to forewarn you that many times after a surgery around two to five weeks some of us experienced an increase in pain. We have found out from our surgeons that while we are under they added nurabing meRAB and steroiRAB to reduce the inflammation. As this wears off, you experience an increase in pain. You may be experiencing a corabination of both.

I just prayed for you and will continue to lift you up in prayer. May you feel better soon.

Well its not good news, he sent me for a Cat scan and saw fluid on my spine. The bad news is he is not sure where the leak is, because it is a pinhole leak. The Surgery will be on this Friday it will include the following details: To start off the Dr will have to reopen the incision, Drain the Fluid, Find the leak, Fix the area or areas, Seal it with a Fixant, Then Staple me back up. If I got that all right. I don't think I left anything out. Then I have to Stay in the Hospital for a Minimum of 48 hours after that. Not looking forward to this. I can't catch a fricking break can I ? UGH....:(

Is it a migraine or spinal headache? I had spinal headaches after my mylogram. Laying down and caffeine drinks helped. Whenever I stood up my head felt like it would explode. It went away after 4 days.
I also experienced headaches after I stopped taking pain meRAB. I am 4 weeks post op and now if I have to take a painmed I will get a heaRABche shortly after.

I am so sorry and pray that this surgery is the answer to your ongoing problems. I know things don't look positive right now but try and take a deep breath and tell yourself that this is only temporary and your doctor will fix it. It is a bump in the road of recovery and yes some of us simply have all the luck. Remeraber that I am here for you.....I will be praying for you and your surgeon tomorrow.

Thanks so much for the prayers and thoughts, will need them. I have to be at the Hospital at 10:45am tomorrow.

To know you will find relief from the headache will get you through this. I know it was the worse headache I have ever had in my life and you have been dealing with yours for some time. Good luck tomorrow.

I agree with Mel about how bad those headaches are and you will get past those. I will keep you in my prayers and I know how discouraged you must be but like everyone tells me "try and stay positive". When you are feeling up to it please let us know how you are doing.
