I purchased a Nokia e50 off ebay from x1387 at the end of November 2006, I've only had the phone just over 2 months now. It worked great until about a week ago, when the reception suddenly started dropping all the time (I'm in Sacramento, CA using t-mobile). I'd frequently lose the provider, then I'd only have one or zero bars, and the call quality was terrible. Other times, I'd still get a full signal. But overall, the phone is super flaky now, and I'm positive that the phone has problems. I called my provider and they said the network wasn't having any problems, and I pulled out my old Nokia 3390, and it still gets great reception, and everything works great.
But here's my problem - x1387 only has a 7-day return policy on his phones, and the auction terms are pretty specific about that, I'm not going to get any help from him. This phone has chinese characters on it, and the only languages it supports are English and Chinese, so I'm assuming that it's a Hong Kong or Chinese phone.
What are my chances of getting it repaired? Nokia USA doesn't even mention the phone on their site, so it doesn't look like they'll help. Will Nokia Hong Kong help me? How would I get ahold of them? Or should I just take my losses, and try to see what I can get for a semi-defective phone on ebay? It still works great as a smartphone device, and you can make calls if you stay in one place when it has good reception, but I've pretty much had to give up on walking around or driving while I'm talking on it. Chances are that the call will drop.
Any suggestions?
