2 flashing red lights on xbox 360?

so i got the 3 rings of death and i took it apart and i fixed the heat sinks. now when i turn the 360 on instead of the 3 red lights i get the 2 red ones as if it were over heating. what is the problem? and no my heat sinks are not dirty causing them to over heat
 
This happened to my boyfriend. He thought it was overheated, I cleaned it out so nicely and everything, we waited a few days put it by the window and everything. Shit wouldn't work. So I honestly think it's dead. You might just have to get a new one.
 
Maybe you forgot to connect something when you took it apart, or something came undone. You could try to let your xbox overheat though, then when it has overheated wait about 20 minutes then turn it back on. I know it sounds ridiculous to let it overheat but I've heard it works, I think it probably resets everything. Good luck.
