but its really only about the graphics. and to be fair, its 1st gen games vs. 2nd gen
 
Give the PS3 1 year and it will most likely be kicking ass.

The 360 had terrible games at launch, look how much its improved.

The PS3 games do seem to suck at the moment. Resistance seems decent though.
 
umm..(1up/egm is really sticking by their mgs4 on 360 idea)

Ahh right Substance...that was like 1 year after MGS2 & it was a direct port (which the Xbox suffered slowdown issues).

Sons of Liberty was a PS2 exclusive.
 
Well Substance was a VR Mission game I think...It was sluggish on the Xbox because it was a port from the PS2.

Sons of Liberty is the original MGS2 game.
 
Substance is Sons of Liberty + some other stuff, I know because I bought it a weak ago instead of buying a new console. (I never play games)
 
its sons of liberty with dolby digital surround sound, thats something for a ps2 game as we all know. and it had a bunch of new features tossed in there. nothing major, but added enough for me to pick up over original version.

and i highly doubt to see mgs 4 on xbox for another year minimum. it will be like substance. another year or so later maybe it will get mgs4, by then, i will have abused the hell outta the game on ps3, so dont really care if it comes out for it or not. we all know they will release mgs4 (insert random word here) soon after original comes out on ps3, like usual
 
like everyone said.... Substance was Sons of Liberty with more features and better graphics.

much like how Subsistance was a better version of Snake Eater
 
The reason they are hard on the PS3 is because of all the crap they were spouting when the 360 came out. They were boasting about how they would do a worldwide launch the right way (they ended up not even doing a worldwide launch, and having a lower first allotment), saying how the PS3 would be the beginning of true HD gaming (referring to 1080p) when Resistance and almost every other launch title is 720p, and the graphics for the games either look worse, the same, or slightly better than 360 games when the PS3 was supposed to be far superior.

That plus they don't support 1080i only HDTVs (a lot of the older models, especially CRT HDTVs) and the signal goes down to 480p. Their online experience is nowhere near as good as Xbox Live and they've had a year to copy everything Microsoft has done and improve on it.
 
Ah ok.

Strange how IGN gave Substance 9.0/10 and Sons of liberty 9.7/10 though...

My point is, it takes a hell of alot of time for an MGS game to be ported over, between 1-2 years.
