I dropped my 1999 Toyota Tacoma off at a local dealer because of frame rust. Apparently there was a recall due to excessive frame rust. I am waiting to hear from a "field rep" to determine if my truck will be included in the recall. The reason I took the truck in is because the leaf springs are completely rusted off of the frame, one side has a large hole and the other side is slightly attached. I am wondering if anyone knows if this would be included in the recall-- specifically, leaf spring rust. Additionally, when I took the truck in, after the initial inspection, they gave me a brand new loaner because they said it would not be safe to drive, is that standard procedure aswell? Thx in advance.
