bike just quits running ..i wait for something to cool down or reset itself ,,, usaully about 10 minutes or more..and then it will start right up ..and go at this pattern again ..after it shuts off i checked for spark... no spark ...the bike is a 1999 ..with 24000 miles on it ..i keep it in the garage ..all grounds look great ..all wireing looks good ..any ideas please.. it just may be the coil? or could it be the main breaker ..ignition module is not hot too the touch..

could be a bad coil, when it gets hot it cuts out.cools off and fires again,Ive seen that before.Try changing out the coil and see what happens. Or if a 1999 has curcuit breakers like the old H.D. models its a breaker kicking off because of an electrical problem,do you hear a click after a few minutes? thats the breaker.

Like the above poster said, when the small crack gets hot it expands and you lose contact. After it cools the crack gets smaller and you regain contact. 99s have a fuse box.
