the fuel filter is connected to the gas line by rubber hoses.
So when you remove the clip or clamp off the rubber hose, a little gas will come out, but you bend the hose back and clamp it shut.
You work on the fuel filter.....or anything on the gasline....with the battery disconnected. that means that the fuel PUMP won't be able towork. So you dn't have gas come spurting out like a fire hose.
If there's no pressure in the line, the gas won't spurt out.
So you also should uncap the gas tank (where you put in gasoline) to release pressure in the tank.

theres no valve the only anount that will come out is small and what ever is in the filter itself. but remember to fill it back up with fuel before you put it on or else it wont start.
