1999 Mercury Cougar Stereo Wont Turn On !!!!!!!??

My 1999 cougar has been sitting down for about a year and the stereo doesnt turn on no matter what. I tried to turn it on via the button on my steering wheel but no luck. What could be the problem or is it just broken already?
Ok i do get a little buzzing noise in the back left speaker, i think it is just blown or could that be something in relation to the stereo
 
Something could be blown.

Is it the stereo that came with the car or one you put in?

i made a discovery with the stock stereo, the preset buttons pop out and if they do, it won't work. It won't even look as if they're popped out.
 
most likely it is a blown fuse, but could possible be a short, I do not bilieve the radio is shot, that hardly ever happens and when it does yous till get noise
