I have a 1999 Ford Taurus which has been nothing but trouble. Can't afford a new car right now. So, yesterday I was driving it and the engine temp gauge started getting hot. Never reached all the way to the hot level. I drive it about 5 miles home. It cut off on me once and didn't want to start back, but it did. Ok, so, I drove it half a mile home after it started back. My husband checked it and the radiator has a crack in it, pouring water out. Haven't driven the car since, but now my service engine soon light is flashing and it's idling rough. I know the radiator needs replacing, but why is my light flashing and idling so bad? Any help would be appreciated. I had no idea the Taurus was such trouble!!!
Didn't know I had a coolant leak. Car never overheated before this happened.

Why are you running the motor with a coolant leak? Just trying to blow the motor?
You may have a bad headgasket which would explain the radiator being cracked, the motor running bad, and overheating.
FORD-- Fix Or Repair Daily!!!

well sure it possible that you over heated it sure it needs a radiator repair or new radiator an dmight need a tune up or have to replace a few othe rparts from running it hot once things like thermostat most likey bad now but a tune up most likely
