1999 Dodge Durango with a 318 v8 engine is using oil!?

I have a 1999 Dodge Durango with a 318 V8 engine; just recently it started to use a lot of oil with no signs of smoking or oil leakage. I don't think the rings are bad, I'm not sure about the vavle guides though. I replaced the PCV valve with no change in oil consumption. Are there possibly any simple solutions to this problem?
 
If you describe what I think you have, then it is more and likely the bottom of your intake manifold is leaking. I had seen this on another Durango, with similar engine. Would have to pull the intake off, and replace that gasket/seal on the bottom of the intake to cure that problem. Hope that helps, good luck.
