1999 Dodge dakota problems...Please help!?

i have 99 dodge dakota, which has been giving me problems lately. I Recently went to the gas pump to fill up and it would only let me put $6.00 which is around 3 gallons of gas. Any Ideas what could be going on? Its becoming a major pain in my butt. Any help is appericated, thanks in advance. I dont know if it makes a differnce in weather change?

Take a screwdriver and a flashlight and open the fill hole and using the screwdriver, open the little flap and use the flashlight to look down in the neck of the tank and see if someone has maybe dropped something down in there and it's lodged in the neck. If it is not this, maybe your fuel gauge or tank float is faulty.

It's possilble that the hose has become kinked , get under your car where the fill hose is at on you car , look up at the hose and you should be able to see if it is kinked, if it's not kinked then you mat have something clogging the hose or you tank is full when your gauge is showing it not.
