Since a last month or so we see this problem.
While driving, suddenly the van feels that one of the doors in unlocked and so it show door ajar sign, turns lights on and tries to lock all doors with the clicking sound like it would do normally. This goes on for long time at small intervals.
Also, a new problem we have seen is that the security alarm starts by iteslef when car is parked and locked. I am thinking that this is becasue when the car is parked, suddenly the car senses that one of the locks is opened and so it turns on the alarm.
2 questions..
1) How do I disable the security alarm on my van. This would help me in short term so I don't have to wory about alarm going off in middle of night when car is parked in garage.
2) How do i fix the door problem. It seems that the problem is with the passenger side sliding door. Mine are manual sliding doors.

I will appreciate your help.
I called Chrysler and they said that the switch would cost me about $130. They said it could be either the switch, just the adjustment or the actuator. Diagnosys would be needed to decide that. Any suggestions. Pl note that when the computer thinks that it is unlocked, it does triger the locking mechanism with normal clicking sound for all doors. Does that mean that the actuator may not be a problem?

There is switch which alerts the body computer that the door is open. That switch is damaged. There is no cut-off for the factory security system. It is not too expensive to have the switch replaced and most garages can do it so you don't have to take it to the dealer. Good luck.
