...I check first? I replaced the Cilinder head gasket on this 1999 Dodge Dakoda this past summer. The Truck was parked for over a year and since replacing the head gasket troubles have arose with the transmission. The truck will shift from Park to Drive with no problems, From Drive to reverse with no issues, but when I Go forward the truck's RMP's will reach dangerously high revolutions and will not swich gears from first to second, thus making it impossible to drive without causing more damage due to overheating. I know this truck does not have Selenoids and that is has Some type of modulator which allows the transmission to switch gears. Has anyone had this problem before and if so what had to be done to fix the issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated because I can't even sell the junk if it has transmission problems.
