1998 Yamaha Yz250 Compression/Top End Question?

Just got a 1998 Yamaha Yz250, and the guy said he did the top end on it a few years ago before he put it away. The bike does start up 3rd kick when cold and 1st kick when hot, I can kick the bike over in sneakers but its tuff and when i try to pump the kick with my hand I can hardly push it all the way down but, the weird thing is when I put on riding boots it seems like it kicks over very easy! Could I just be thinking its easy because I have been riding a Rm250 in sneakers and kicking it over in sneakers for the last past year lol or is the compression low? What would be the signs of a bad top end?

its prob because ur used to tha rm with sneakers. and plus with boots it is alot easer 2 kick for some reason.

tha top end is fine if it is running good.

if ur worried u should take it 2 any motorcycle shop n tell em 2 run a compression test. it takes 5 minutes.

or u can get your own tester pretty cheap at a motorcycle store.
