1998 Toyota Vienta rear door window?

1998 Toyota Vienta drivers side rear electric window will not go up or down. I can hear the motor working, but its just making a klicking noise and the window doesn't move up or down. The glass is loose and i pulled it up phisically and taped it in place to keep it closed.
Can anyone advise what may be the problem?
 
It is probably the whole window regulator assembly, not just the motor gear. The motor gear when stripped will also ruin the gear it drives which has the cables wrapped around it. The cables pull the window open and closed. Advance Auto has window regulators complete with the motor at very reasonable prices.
 
like most cars it has a plastic gear on the motor that moves the window regulator up and down and it has failed

easy fix remove door panel then look inside the door and locate the motor
some are riveted in and some are not if its riveted in you might want to take it to a mechanic ..but the gear ic easy to take off the motor with just a screw or clip
