1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Coolant Leak?

I bought myself a used jeep gc limited a week ago. two days into owning it, the display said "coolant sensor bad". i kept driving it, because it had coolant, and because it hasn't been that hot anyways. two days after that the display said that the battery was bad as well, and the dash said the battery was dead. then i stopped and restarted and the battery was fine, the warning went away, and the dash showed it as having the right voltage. the dash also began to say that the windshield washer fluid was low, which again, it was not, so i began to suspect that the display was broken.

however, just yesterday i discovered that the engine was steaming, and i looked below and saw that it was leaking antifreeze really quickly. i refill the antifreeze with water every time i drive it, as a temporary fix, but i need to know how this could all be wrong at the same time. is my water pump broken? could it just be a leak, and would that explain why the car thinks the coolent sensor is broken?
