1998 Ford Crown Victoria whose radio's buttons do not work.?

I have a 1998 Crown Victoria. The radio in it works, however, you cannot turn it on or off, change the volume, change the radio station, switch between radio/cassette/radio... Essentially the player receives the radio yet none of the buttons work. This was the radio which came with the car, it has not been modified or changed. Does anyone know how to fix this problem or how to reset the radio?
