1998 Buick LeSabre Question: Trouble getting traction?

Oh ok.

To all you people out there that know a little about cars, maybe you can help me out!

First off, a little background. I drive a 1998 Buick LeSabre with about 96,000 miles on it. My tires are relatively new, only about 15,000 miles on them and they have some kind of warranty. I also have a new manifold and rust is very minimal.

I've been noticing lately, especially when it is rainy and I'm on a hill or when there is loose stone, that my car seems to almost stall at intersections as I'm getting ready to pull through. My wheels have trouble getting traction though I'm pushing the gas and my car is not moving. This has only happened once before on dry roads. Sometimes, my car will begin shaking as if it is not fully in drive but I know it is because I've been driving and haven't put it in park. Could someone please tell me what this might be? I won't be able to get it into a mechanic for about a week and I'd like to be able to scope out potential costs. Thanks!
