1997 Toyota RAV4 head gasket blown due to overheating.?

I had a leaking radiator which caused head gasket to blow due to rise in temperatue that I observed in the gauge. I continued driving it for a distance of 100 Kms but kept on adding water to the radiator to keep the engine at it's normal operating temperaures. At about 3 different instances I would observe the temperature gauge rise momentarily above the red bar and then I would try to bring the temperature down by re- filling the radiator with more water. I drove to my destination successfully.
Could there have been any other damage caused by that driving apart from the already blown head gasket? And what will be the process of replacing another head gasket? How much do you think this could cost me? The engine model is 3S of 1997 Toyota RAV4.
