Hello, and thanks for your answers. I have a problem with a car then runs perfect except for two problems in regards to the engine. A wavering idle that will go away as it warms. And the other problem which is the more serious one. The engine will cut out on me while driving... sometimes a stumble... sometimes completely out for a few seconds and then starts running again... sometimes accompanied by a pop... the pop seems to tell me that it is getting enough fuel and it is creating an explosion out the tailpipe. This does not happen on acceleration. It has however not happened while not driving but I have not sit in an unmoving running car long enough to know. So it seems electrical. Coil in Distributor... and if you know - is the coil in the distributor on a manual 1997 626? I ask because the Hanes manual does not tell me anything more than it could be two different ways...inside and outside. I have looked and I see nothing with two terminals outside the distributor which would indicate a coil. As far the problem of the engine cutting out and rough idle you should know the fuel filter has already been replaced. I have also shook the wires on idling and no problems. Could not induce the cutout. Also I have put enough HEAT in to know that water is not the issue.
