I have a 1997 Jeep wrangler and had a mechanic run a 24pt. inspection. During the inspection they noticed radiator fluid dripping from underneath. It was just small drips, but a leak just the same. I had the oil changed and there is no sign of coolant in the oil and no milky substance & not overheating. The mechanic told me that I either had a blown Head gasket or Blown Head. He did not run a pressure test, so I'm not so sure that this is the true problem. The jeep has been losing power and is only a 4cylinder, so not good. The only changes that have taken place while driving the jeep the last couple of weeks has been trying to use the heater due to chilly mornings. I allow it to warm up, but the heater doesn't get very warm. I haven't noticed any leaks in the passenger floor board or any coolant odors, so not really sure that the heater core is the problem either? Also, there is no white smoke coming from the tail pipe either. Could it just be a simple coolant leak, or is there a bigger underlying problem? I don't mind spending money to fix any issue, just don't want to spend money fixing something that's not broken. Especially when I am in the same boat as everyone else during the economy crunch! Can you please throw some suggestions my way in order to keep from throwing money away. I hate being a female, everyone tries to take me for a fool. Thanks for any reply!
Thank you for the replies: My jeep does not have a air conditioner in it. So no fluids can be leaking from this. The coolant is what is leaking, but where the leak is coming from, not known for sure.
I keep forgetting to add this: but I haven't had to add any coolant. The levels in both the radiator and overflow are both fine. Thanks,
