hey ive got a '97 honda prelude with 195000km on it. when i start the car up in the morning, the idle sometimes revs up and down between 1000 and 2000 rpm.. problem ? Also, when accelerating, it seems that the car jerks when im at 4000 rpm and the VTECH barely kicks in. Ive read up and cant find the thing to fix it. I was just outside idling the motor and notices there was smoke coming out of under the engine (probably burning oil). when i looked under, the catalytic converter was the cause of the smoke. it was smoking pretty bad (not black smoke). So is the catalytic converter the problem to the high/low idling and my bad acceleration ?
