My Passport usually drives beautifully; it is quiet, shifts smoothly(automatic), and gives me no issues.
Then, randomly it just dies. It won't accelerate and all the lights on the dash will come on. It is like I just turned it off. There are no warning signs that I am aware of. It has happened while driving and while stopped at a light. I stop the vehicle, put it in park and turn it off. I wait a minute and start it back up. It starts up just fine and then runs great, again. This doesn't happen every time that I drive, but often enough. It did it 4 times yesterday, but not at all today.
Sometimes, the check trans light will stay blinking after I start it back up, but only until I park it. The light won't be on when I start it, later.
I've had a transmission shop look at it and the only thing they could find was that the transmission fluid was a little low. I thought maybe it was a sending unit issue, since I was running on low fuel. So, I filled the tank, but then it did it again with 3/4 a tank. So, any suggestions?
