1997 honda accord transmission swap info needed????

I am doing an tranmission swap in my 1997 hona accord. i have an automatic and i am making it manual. i already got some of the parts but need help with the tranmission control unit. i was wondering is the engine control unit and the transmission control unit one unit or are they two seperate units. And if they are seperate can i take an obd1 tranny ecu and put it in the car or do i need an obd2 unit
 
what you need to do is make sure the tranny and the engine marry...if not, you've made MORE work for yourself. It's going to cost more money than the car is worth to make it a stick, than to leave it an auto (which is why you need to make sure the engine will work with the tranny.)
buy a stick...it's more cost effective and realistic.
