1997 Honda Accord power door locks - Jammed?

I have an issue with the power door locks on my 1997 Honda Accord. Nothing is non-functional, but here is what it is...

I purchased the car about two years ago...
During the first two years of my ownership, I would randomly be driving the car (with the doors locked) and suddenly the lock mechanisms inside the door would begin clicking, as though I were hitting the switch to re-lock the doors, and this would continue for several moments before stopping. Note: A friend of mine with the same vehicle reported to me that their vehicle does this same thing.

NOW - Within the past few months the issue has turned into this: Every time I lock the doors (either from the outside or the inside) the mechanisms inside the doors continue to do their "thing" (they act like I keep hitting the button to lock the doors even though they are already locked). This "re-locking" issue will then continue for about 30 seconds before stopping (it acts as though I hit the lock switch about 50 times before stopping).

There are no electrical problems with this car... All fuses are good... There is nothing visually wrong with any locks or mechanisms, nor is anything malfunctioning (not locking or unlocking)...
...I even took the doors apart to try to find the issue. When I couldn't, I sprayed ALL visible mechanisms with WD-40, but this did nothing to alleviate the problem.

Does anyone know what is going on here??
I could see a fault switch being a possibility, but even with the fact that the issue still occurs even if I lock the door from the outside of the vehicle with the key?
