ABS light comes on. How to fix? I actually recently got into an accident where I couldn't stop in time. So I do have some concern in fixing this, but maybe it wouldn't have made a difference anyway if the ABS had worked. To run a diagnostic test at dealer costs about $60. (I'm a poor college student:) Should I even bother spending the extra $ to fix?

auto parts stores like napa and Auto Zone might be able to test for free. Auto Zone tested my started for free. All the ABS does is help the brakes not to lock. They should still work.

It could be just a sensor. The ABS system is a safety feature designed to keep the wheels from locking up and skidding in the event of a hard stop. If you are not familiar with working on cars, you should take it to a shop that specializes in brakes.
