1997 Ford ranger fuel gage and Temp sensor gage not working. I removed the assembly and looked for bad grounds, removed all chaassis grounds and re-installed them cleaning surfaces. Removed all connectors, I mean ALL connectors big or small and checked for corrosion briges that might be shorting power to ground. I am getting 12 volts to the Instrument cluster lights and anti-slosh printed circuit board (pcb), I hear the pump operating as I turn the key for starting the car (without actuating clutch switch), I have good pressure, the tank is always full, I have to keep it full since I cant tell what the level is... How to test the anti slosh pcb? what are the voltages to look for with ignition ON and what are the signal level voltage outputs I should be seen out the pcb ... What is the voltage level for the red/white wire at the black connector for the fuel/ Temp assembly? I notice the battery had drained and at a low voltage I was not able to start the vehicle but noticed the gage went up to half tank which was approx what I had in gas. Charged the battery and the gages went back down. I see a slight jump of the needle when I set the position of the key to ON but the needle just goes down after.. ANYONE that can help me rule out one or the other??? Lost my job, cost of pcb 100.00 cost of pump assembly 100.00 , can only afford one... Thanks
