1997 ford expedition xlt engine problems?

Hello. My sister has a 1997 ford expedition xlt 5.4 l triton engine and she is having troble with it running. Here is the problem when you are driving on the street and lets say you pull up to red light and you take your foot of the gas pedal the truck will die so when you are at a red light you are at a red light you have to keep one foot on the brake and the other on the gas pedal to keep the truck runing if you let of the gas pedal it will die. What could the problem be anyone?

The IAC (idle air control) motor would be a logical suspect but I suggest you scan the computer for codes. It may or may not have set a diagnostic trouble code. If it did you will probably find a P0506 fault code.
