1997 dodge Neon Dash Lights off.?

today i was leaving a friends house and when i turned my car on the in dash lights never came on. The ones that light up the spedometer, gas etc.
I think it might be a fuse but the only way i can think of to check it is taking ever fuse out, and using a fuse tester, then replacing the one that doesnt work. Before i do that does anyone know what might cause this problem?
 
Well,before pulling every fuse, look on the fuse box cover for the diagram(also could be located in owners manual) showing the location of the fuse you are searching for! Look at the side of the fuse,there will be a continuous "horseshoe" shaped or "W" shaped piece of metal running from one side to the other that you can see(this is why fuses are clear,colored represents amp size of it{15a,20a,etc). If that line is broken anywhere along the way or the fuse is black/burned looking,it is a bad fuse.
 
Just age of fuse alone will cause it to blow. Check in your owners manual for the fuse for the instruments. If you don't have it, it might be on the inside of the cover for the fuse panel.
