...on freeway.? I had a complete transmission rebuild around 6k miles ago. When driving on the freeway around 50 mph, the van will rev up to around 4500rpm and begins to lose acceleration, shutters and jerks and sometimes it backfires. I took it back to transmission shop where it was rebuilt and they told me I have a cooling problem. The high rpm's and loss of acceleration was because my tranny was running a high temp at 170 degrees, it wasn't switching gear, and it should be running around120 degrees. They said I need an external trans cooloer and it should solve my problem. Would a transmission running at high temp cause my van to do the shuttering, jerking, and loss of speed?
I spent over 2 grand on the tranny!
