1997 dodge dakota... hard acceleration?

i got a '97 dakota ..V6..im going to have it checked out tommrow...but its starting to bug me...anyway..my issue is....its hard to accelerate...sometimes its hard to get outta first gear....and its sometimes hard to get past 3rd...its hard to get up hill....my engine hasnt ever had an issue...its got 134,xxx on it...the tranny is in good shape..no shakes...ETC.. it did have some slippuing isues... so i drained the fluid...cleaned the pan..and put a new filter in ther.e...put some lucas tranny treatment in...no problems since...im thinkin its the throttle position sensor....it does sometimes give me hesitations switching gears...which is what this sensor can do when it goes bad...sound likely?....i think so...i dont mind spending the 35$ for the part (advanced auto parts)....i just want the problem fixed....u guys think that sounds right?thanks and God Bless---Nick
