First let me start with what I've replaced on the truck.
Fuel pump - 1 week ago
fuel pump wire harness connector - 1 week ago
air filter - 1 week ago
Fuel filter, plugs, rotor cap - 1 1/2 ago (30,000 miles)
battery and alternator about 2 years ago
So my problem started about 9 months ago. I replaced my fuel pump at the time because of suspected low fuel pressure when starting. Well that seemed to solve the problem for a bit. Then it started to have rough start ups, continuously cranking till it would start, maybe 3-5 seconds. Also it started to have hesitate while driving and a rough idle. Well I then decided to change the fuel pump and wiring harness connector (something that I read on a forum) last week and well it didn't help a thing. Oh by the way the fuel pump had a lifetime warranty, so money wasn't an issue. So today I started it to drive to work and it was bucking like crazy when I tried to give it gas so I parked it. There is NO check engine light to check a code. I replaced the air filter and fuel pump. So I'm guessing maybe spark now? This is where I'm confused. Is there a way to check fuel issues before getting diagnostics done? The truck has 145,000 miles and it still has original plug wires.
