1996 Toyota Tercel EGR valve question?

I just had my EGR valve cleaned and the tube running to the manifold,the check engine light came back on and it is idling a little rough again.I tested the valde by pressing on the diaphram with my finger and it did not kill the engine.Is it still possible it could be a solinoid or one of the hoses going to the EGR are clogged still or should I just get the whole EGR assembly replaced?
The only reason the engine light went off orginally is because the mechanic reset the code.
 
I haven't worked on cars since the 1970's..
But there is also a AIR PUMP that is connected..
..from my experiance..the AIR PUMP can seize up--actually making its BELT--squeal..and then break..
That's about all I can offer.
 
the mechanic reset the codes ,and run the engine to see if they pop out again,that didn't happen. and now ,chances are that the egr is still dirty.
( may be has never been cleaned!! . I know my people.)
