1996 Toyota Celica ST keyless entry problems?

I have a 1996 Toyota Celica ST i just bought about a week ago and im having problems with the factory keyless entry sometimes it decides to unlock and lock other times it doesnt. another problem is the noise it makes when you unlock it and lock it that all toyota makes sometimes works and sometimes doesnt anyone know how to fix this? Thanks
