1996 ford escort 4 door driver door key not un locking ,but will lock,unlocke

from passenger side .? have put wd 40 on lock, so all moving ok and works from passenger side ok. any help thanks ,

You will have to strip the door down and see if something has come adrift or replace the worn out lock barrel.

The key is worn: With these Ford 'Chubb' locks, ANY key will lock any vehicle, but only the correct key will unlock.
If you don't have the little tag that came with the keys giving the key number, you'll either have to find a decent locksmith to cut a new key using your worn old one as a template, or the door lock will have to be removed & disassembled so that a new key can be cut to fit.
