1996 Dodge Truck Runs Rough and Shaking?

My son took my truck out and got it stuck in the snow, burnt the plug wires on passenger side up, he replaced them and got the truck running, but it sounds like crap, and is running really rough and shaking so hard my teeth rattle. The check engine light is now on, unfortunately I'm broke until tax check comes in, anyone have any ideas? Would it still run but run rough if the plug wires are crossed, or could getting stuck in the snow have caused another prob lem? Thanks for any help!
 
check to see that the plug wires are set the right firing order that should take care of problem.if not go to the next promblem the distributor if you have one
 
He probably damaged the destributor cap and rotor, and/or some spark plugs. Try checking that.
 
Have his recheck the plug wires. If it was running fine before, it sounds like he put the wires on wrong.
If he did and the engine misfires it will turn the service engine light on.
