...a wierd buzzing sound under? the dash. Very wierd. Jumps just fine, starts right up but when you stop the buzzing sounds starts than it won't start again. I figured it was the alternator (water pump was just replaced few months back ouch) Now this and it looks as if the alternator is going to be a pain to pull out to bring to Autozone (48 miles away) to get checked. Any ideas? Should I spend the hours pulling it out or is it something electrical? Please help I will have to do it twice if it is cause I can't afford to buy new will have to go to junkyard.

If the noise is from under the dash then it's not the alternator. If the voltage regulator fails in the alternator then a light typically lights up on the dash.

Find out what part of the starting circuit is located under the dash is this is the source of the noise.

If you have to "jump" the vehicle to start it then the battery needs attention. The alternator is designed to maintain a battery and not re-charge it. If the battery is weak you need to place it on a proper charger at low amperage for at least 8 hours.
