I have a 1996 Dodge Dakota SLT 5.2L.
This question is pertaining to the stereo system. I am not sure whether or not I have the Infinity system. The stock head unit is only equipped with a cassette player. I have ordered a new head unit, wiring harness, face plate, (2) 5.25" door speakers, and (2) 5x7" rear speakers. I have already removed the factory head unit. When trying to remove the rear speaker grills, I tried prying off the grill with a thin screw driver. I heard the spine-tingling shatter of plastic clips, followed by the sound of them tumbling down behind the inside paneling. I immediately stopped and decided to post up a question about how to remove these grills to get at the speaker/wiring. Would it simply be easier to remove the interior plastic paneling?
On that same note, I have not even attemped to look at the door speakers. How would I go about removing the door panel to access the speakers/wiring. Any special tools needed? Thanks in advance!
