Hi, i have a 1996 chrysler sebring convertible JXi with roughly 107,500 miles on it. i got it a few months ago and everytime i get in it, i have a different opinion on it. some days ill DESPISE it & plan on selling it, then the next day itl seem like the best car on the road (& im not bipolar !)...
in the time that ive had it, i havent made any major replacements, just the radiator & the thermostat. since i got it it had like a shuddery shift back down to first gear. it was BAD, but i discovered a leak, so now its just alittle thump.
my concern now is stalling. i got it christmas, it stalled like january 5th, then like late january, with no signs, no shuddering, no rough idle, just a random stall out, then would start back up. now, it will stall somewhat often. it will drive fine. ill park it, get back in 20 minutes later, starts up with a rough, shaky idle, and when it starts like that, this is what happens while on the road. it will just die, shut off, stall, whatever you wanna call it, but it does that, starts right back up, maybe will do it again right away, maybe not. but after that (sometimes even when its driving fine) ill be driving, it will accelerate up through first gear like normal, then while im in second or third gear, keeping it around 2 - 2500 rpms, itl just stop accelerating, the rpm needle will drop down to like, 1000 or so, the engine silences, then not even 2 seconds later itll just go right back up to the rpm i had it , and continue driving as if nothing happened, sometimes itl do it once, sometimes more than once in a row. then ill park, get back in not to long after, and itl drivin like its brand new. it is CONFUSING. & i have like NO money because i just spent like 400 replacing the stuff i listed above, plus brakes & rotors and inspection. so im just, lost. i wanna just sell it, but the paint is ugly, and its winter so ill get NOTHING for it. so id like to fix it very much, without going through EVERY possiblity of what it could be (by word of mechanic) =/
