1996 Chevy 1500 ABS Light?

Hi, I have a problem with my 96 chevy 1500 ABS light.. It only comes on every now and then when im driving and My check engine light is on also. I got the check engine light read and its my brake switch... Would that cause both the Check engine and ABS light to go off? Or how do I check what going on with the ABS?? How do i get that problem read with a reader?
 
GET NEW SWITCH AND BE SURE TO GET COMPUTER RESET OR IT WONT GO AWAY MY FATHER HAS THE SAME PROBLEM WITH HI 96 CHEVY CORSICA
 
It sounds like you may have a short in a wheel speed sensor harness or the sensor is just bad. If you have access to a snap on scanner you can clear the light. while the scanner is hooked up take it for a short drive. The light will come back on and you'll be able to get a fresh code. Chances are it's a problem with wheel speed sensor. If it is then id like to tell you not to fall for the $300+ hub assembly unless you feel you need all that. Places like carquest have the sensor and harness itself for about $170 but most repair shops will tell you that you have to replace the hub assembly.
