I had problems with my battery dying on my 1995 Toyota Corolla. So I pulled the alternator had it tested and it was certainly bad. I replaced the alternator, checked the battery voltage and it was 12.5 volts. So I tried jump starting the car and it is turning over just fine but will not start, after trying to jump start the battery had reached a voltage of 15.6. This doesnt seem right. I noticed that one of the plug wires was loose, I tugged on it to have a look down inside the spark plug chamber and noticed the electrode of the plug wire was still attached to the top of the plug and the wire was in my hand! It turns out the plug wire had long since been broken and corroded and pretty much turned to gray dust. So at this point I went out replaced the plug wires completely. The problem persists, the car is turning over fine but will not start. Is my battery faulty? Is there something else I have missed here?
