1995 honda accord temperature gauge not working?

My temp gauge always below the blue line until I drive on freeway, then it would slowly register normal temp, now the gauge does not move at all, my car is not overheating, but I'm not comfortable driving the car with no temperature indication whatsoever. How can I tell if the gauge itself is broken, or if it is a temperature sensor?
