1995 ford windstar van 3.8 V6 o/d light flashes?

o/d light flashes from the momment you start the van until you shut it off. even dose it in park. but the trans runs perfect and shifts fine and even the overdrive still works if you push the button the over drive will still work the way its soppuse to what could be wrong with it?
