There is a 1994 toyota celica that i am thinking about buying and we were looking at the engine just after we turned it off, and in the upper left hand corner (if you were looking at it from the front) there is a box type thing (it is more round than boxish) that had the toyota name on it and it also said 12 volts... anyways it was making a sizzeling noise quite bad and it sounded like it was shorting out or something. It had a cord coming out of it (i think it was three different cords together) that was plugged in with a plastic end, and when we unplugged that, it stopped but as soon as we plugged it back in, it started sizzeling again. I just really need to know what this thing is and if it is inexpensive/dangerous or not.
P.S. I KNOW THAT THIS IS NOT THE BATTERY
