Water pump was going out on my 1994 Mercury Sable V6, 3.8L engine so I replaced the water pump.
I have filled the radiator full with cap off and engine cold I see water gushing out of the radiator fill neck.
The engine will turn over but will not start so the engine is not hot.
The belts are on right.
Did notice that when the cap is on and after I try to crank it I hear and see water/air bubbles around the intake manifold gasket.
Would the intake manifold gasket cause this radiator back pressure or is it worse like a blown head gasket?
Do not see any signs of water in the oil.
Car was running before but again, it has that radiator back pressure now and the engine will not start.
I hope that the intake gasket can also cause this to happen and not just the head gasket.
I do not see any leaks and the radiator is still full after refilling5 hours ago.
When I say water is gushing out of radiator fill, that is when I crank the engine over and not by me filling the radiator up with water. Engine is cold since it will not start now but will crank and turn over. Only thing I did see was those water/air bubbles on the intake gasket near the thermostat housing side.
Thermostat housing is not leaking.
