I've been trying to replace the driver side cv half-shaft of my 1994 mazda protege. The outer boot to the half-shaft and the inner boot connecting to the cup were torn. I have removed the majority of the half-shaft, however, the cup connecting to the trans connection will not come out. I've tried prying it,slamming it, I even used a ball joint separator. The only thing that happens is the transmission is getting scored from the tool. I've done everything that the autozone manual says to do. Is there a trick that might help? The engine is a 1.8 SOHC with manual transmission.
