I had noticed on my Mazda/Ranger B2300 2.3L a white wire with a red or pink stripe, the color may have faded, in the engine compartment area more on the driver side was disconnected and I do not know what it is suppose to be connected to? It has a black boot on it with a female connection on it. I had checked to see if the temperature or the oil sending unit have been disconnected but they are still connected. This wire was in the area of the oil filter but is long enough to be plugged in to some thing on top of the motor. I don't know who worked on the vehicle last so I can't ask them.
