1994 ford tempo shifting poorly?

i recently maxed out my tempo (went faster than 85 mph) and the transmission shifts (auto) into third gear around 25 mph. i heard you can reset the computer by turning the key back and forth a couple of times. is this true? can someone tell me whats wrong? thanks
 
No, you cannot reset your car's computer by turning the key back and forth. If your transmission just started acting up after you "maxed out" your tempo then i would say that you probably damaged something in doing that, but it is hard to give you a good answer. Please give more information.
