1994 FORD CROWN VIC HEATER/ AC ISSUE?

if the heater core is out,can you reroute the heater hoses through the ac unit to produce heat in the car?
or is the ac unit unable to let antifreeze flow through it and i am gonna be stuck tearing out the dash, and replacing the heater core?
i know this may/will trash the ac unit if it works..but i am looking for a quick fix for now, long term fix the right way next spring.
 
wel no since ac and heater not same thing or unit one runs with coolant the other runs antifreeze you can by pass heater core just by siwtching hose pull one hose that coolant flow into core remove just one hose off heatercore run it back to motor

can do it but wil not have any heat smarter to replace it since winter is coming no heat no defrost cold hands

an dreplacing heater core is a pain but not hard just 100 of small screw and odd way one has to lay in car to get under dash makes it a real pain about two hours or so can do one
