I'm having some slight issues with my 94 chevy astro AWD van.
When I bought the van it would need you to give it a VERY little amount of gas while turning it over and holding it there for 1-2 mins untill it warmed up or it would stall.. but after driving it 10 mins or more it would start up without giving it gas.
The other day the fuel pump went out after a few months of driving it and I replaced it.. now the problem is really bad if you sit there cranking it for 5 seconds.. 15 seconds.. a minute.. it won't start.. you have to give it a bit of gas -holding the pedal down- and crank it for 20 seconds before it finally starts and then after warming up no issues.
Someone told me when I changed the pump maybe air got in the line and thats why and if I give it a few quick revs it will take care of that.
But I think the problem lays deeper then that.
Van good spark plugs and wires had a recent tune up and engine is rebuilt with only about 70,000 miles.
Any other ideas to confirm this issue and how to fix it? thanks!
What should the van idle at it doesn't have a tach on the dash either which makes it kinda hard to know.
Also is that all the things it could be pretty much?
